Evidence for Parametric Decay Instability in the Lower Solar Atmosphere

We find evidence for the first observation of parametric decay instability (PDI) in lower solar atmosphere. Specifically, we that power spectrum density fluctuations near transition region resembles velocity fluctuations, but with frequency axis scaled up by about a factor two. These results are from an analysis Si IV lines observed Interface Region Imaging Spectrometer (IRIS) polar coronal hole. also have radial 75 km/s and much faster estimated speed 250 km/s, as is expected sound waves Alfv\'en waves, respectively, region. Theoretical calculations show this relationship consistent those PDI plasma conditions measurements suggest interaction between instability.
